About Secret Magpies

The Secret Magpies are Chris Chambers and Autumn Dawn Leader.

“We’re from Loughborough in Leicestershire, in the UK, and we write and perform Original Progressive Folk(ish) music. We both sing, and between us we play piano, electric and acoustic guitars, lyre, mandolin, dobro, and lap steel. We’re both full time musicians and experienced performers, and met by chance at the All At Seagrave festival in May 2016.

“After doing a totally unrehearsed set there, we realised we had something special together, and until April 2018 we performed as The Way Out.

“In April 2018 we reluctantly decided to change our name. There were just too many other outfits using The Way Out. It made life very difficult in digital media. We were hard to find. So we became The Secret Magpies.”
