Bitsville at the Hinckley ACT

Friday 16th May 2014 brings the welcome return of Bitsville –  best described as “Bits of drums, voices, basses, and guitar.”

Bits of songs and instrumentals you will never have heard before. Bits of numbers that you heard somewhere once or twice. Bits of funk-blues-jazz-country-punk-folk-americana-britpop, re-vamped. Bits of structure and chaos…

With special guest Dave Wyatt.

About Bitsville

All of NIGEL UPTON’s drums, TONIA TEMPEST’s voice, KEVIN ASBREY’s basses, and PETE TURNPENNEY’s guitar.

In the words of Pete Turnpenney,

“This project involves four East-Midlands musicians who deliver high quality stuff that entertains in a musically- varied way, We take slightly obscure songs from a wide range of styles and twist the arrangements a bit.

“For instance you’ll get a version of a modern American grunge ballad, followed by a three-minute funk instrumental, a country-blues arrangement of a 1970’s rock number, then a British folk song with pedal-steel behind it… and bits of jazz that are not jazz.”

Bitsville – the Jukebox Of The Obscure.
