After thirty years in the professional arena, Graham is regularly called upon to give concert performances, to play on television and studio recording sessions, to hold workshops in advanced fingerstyle techniques for steel string guitar, along with providing atmospheric music in sophisticated dining situations.

Graham has performed solo and alongside some of the world’s finest musicians, dazzling audiences at countless festivals, concerts and corporate functions.

He has toured with Australia’s Slim Dusty and Anne Kirkpatrick and New Zealand’s Billy T. James. He’s opened shows for Manhattan Transfer, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Vanessa-Mae, Michael Crawford, Joshua Kadison, Icehouse and Jasper Carrot. He’s played alongside Tommy Emmanuel and Gray Bartlett, and played on shows with Martin Taylor, Leo Kottke and Michael Fix.

His warm stage manner puts an audience at ease while he enthralls them with his mastery of a huge range of guitar styles.

Not only does Graham maintain a busy performance schedule, but he also handcrafts the instruments on which he performs.

His ambition ‘to play music I have written on instruments I have built’ reached fruition with the recording of his CD ‘Signature’. Steel string guitar, electric and bass guitars, lap-steel, 12-string soprano guitar and mountain dulcimer all feature on this album.

Gren Bartley

Gren Bartley

Gren Bartley sits on the edge of the ever growing link between English and American folk music. He explores the whole range from traditional English songs to the darkest American blues ballads.

With special guest Si Hayden.

Add to this his impressive songwriting with “a depth and insight of someone twice his age” and you will find an artist that is sure to be an important contributor to the roots scene for many years to come.

Gren’s live act is his strongest asset. His guitar playing is “effortlessly astonishing” and his lyrics serve perfectly to accompany the audience through the spectrum of musical landscapes he visits. But it is his soft yet absorbing voice that provides the thread of continuity throughout the set. He has toured all over the UK and is quickly building a core of fans wherever he goes. Catch him now… quick.

His solo album “Carry Her Safe”

“With a glorious serrated edge, Gren Bartley’s “Carry Her Safe” features some great guitar and banjo picking. It’s an album of strong heartfelt songs and some great musical interludes, not just instrumentals dotted around the album, but as solos, introductions and finishes to the songs with a vocal element. There is the spirit of the troubadour about it, particularly when the harmonica kicks in. You can imagine Gren and co hitching a lift at a truck stop trying to get to the next gig. Artists like this seem to be a dying breed.”FATEA.

Brian Reed

Concert Special – Brian Reed

Brian has successfully and impressively performed at the club on a number of previous occasions. He is an impressive singer and guitarist who plays his own renditions of classic pop songs spanning five decades. With special guest Leavon Archer.

Brian Reed at the Hinckley ACT

Brian Reed refers to his music as ‘acoustic classical pop’

About Brian Reed

He started performing publicly in the Derbyshire peak district around 2000 moving to Leicestershire in 2004. The change of job and location stalled his performing activities somewhat but he has gradually found outlets that welcome his brand of acoustic classic pop. His stated objective is to deliver his versions as simply as possible without losing the essence of the originals, claiming that it would be a crime to murder someone’s favourite song. Using acoustic guitar and occasionally a bass drum, he manages to make some surprising choices for stripped-down acoustic delivery work.

About Leavon Archer

Leavon Archer – check out the albums “Broken” and “Things that go together”

He explains “I started getting into Electronica; Bjork, Chicane etc. so I built a little studio where I started messing around with that kind of stuff, I ended up with an album called “Broken”. I began to rein in a lot of the electronic elements and my writing is now very acoustic oriented again. “Broken” has been joined by “Things that go together” a few of the songs from which had their first public outing when I supported Midge Ure at the Flowerpot in Derby. 2010 saw me take the step into a full-time musical career.”

Paul Phillips plus John Montague

Evening Concert – Paul Phillips

Paul Phillips at the Hinckley ACT

Paul Phillips – check out his album “Contradictions”

Leicestershire-based singer-songwriter, Paul Phillips, performed a broad range of self-penned original material from poignant sketches of human frailty to his own brand of modern Country and Western. Paul was accompanied by musician and music producer John Montague.

About Paul Phillips

In live performance, Paul provides a wide selection of entertaining songs rich on melody, always worth a listen.

A late-comer to the live-music scene, Paul’s CDs have been very well received. His recent collection of songs stimulated by the last decade ‘Endless War’ – provides a provocative follow-up to the debut eclectic  ‘Contradictions’ album. We are told the next project will have a country flavour.

It proved to be a avery good session. Paul Phillips website.
