Friday October 5th 2012. ColvinQuarmby are a five piece band from the Midlands who have played all of the major folk festivals throughout the United Kingdom and Europe including Cambridge, Celtic Connections, Shrewsbury and Fairport Conventions Cropredy, where they were voted best live act in 2010.
Other acts that year included Steve Winwood, Steeleye Span, Nik Kershaw and of course Fairport themselves. Now they’re came closer to home and the intimate setting of The Hinckley ACT in a special show.
So what’s in a name ? Well in CQs case, its sublime songwriting, spine tingling five part harmonies, fine musicianship and a truly unique live stage show.
There is a feel good factor to a ColvinQuarmby gig which is rarely equaled. Its not tangible, nor easily put into words, it needs to be experienced.
Read the CQ guestbook on their website and you will have a better idea. Look at the comments on Facebook and it becomes clear that this bands live show is something very special.
Better still try it – only then will you truly understand what we mean.
